BREWED IN NEW MEXICO SINCE 1996
Sierra Blanca Brewing Company started back in 1996 in a tiny Carrizozo building where the desert wind blew harder than our budget. We brewed beer the way people explore New Mexico — with grit, curiosity, and a healthy respect for whatever strange thing might be hiding behind the next cactus.
Let us introduce ourselves, Rich and Sue Weber. In 1995, we visited New Mexico and fell in love with this enchanting state, packed up, left New Jersey behind and started on our adventure of a lifetime.
By 2006, we’d outgrown the little spot and moved to Moriarty, building a 12,000‑square‑foot brewery and a half‑acre beer garden big enough for hikers, bikers, campers, skiers, and anyone who’s ever pulled off I‑40 thinking, “I need a beer before the wind takes my hat.”
Over the years, our lineup grew into a cast of characters: Alien Amber, Pecan Amber,
our IPAs, and the rest of the crew that keeps New Mexicans hydrated after long trails, dusty roads, and questionable camping decisions.
Today, Sierra Blanca is one of New Mexico’s oldest independent craft breweries, Still family owned, still going strong with the advantage of a great team (not to mention good shoes, the occasional aspirin and active lifestyles to keep us young, lol) — still stubborn, still local, still brewing beer for people who chase sunsets, climb mountains, wander the desert, and know that the best stories start with, “So we were out there, and…”
This is Sierra Blanca Brewing Company. Born in the high desert. Built for adventure. Crafted for people who appreciate a damn good beer.
